The Work We Do

In construction, millwright work can involve installation, maintenance, retrofit, and removal of conveyor systems and most machines found in industrial facilities.  Millwrights are responsible for the installation and maintenance of production lines for many of the packaged food we eat to the cars we drive.  You can find Millwrights working in oil refineries, nuclear and power generation plants, water treatment and chemical plants, as well as paper and steel mills, just to mention a few.

In addition, Millwrights perform the installation and maintenance of bearings, seals, crank shafts, gear boxes, as well as precision alignment on gas or steam turbines to generators and pumps or compressors to the motors that run them.  Millwrights are also certified welders.

Specialities of Millwrights

Alignment of rotating machinery using dial indicators and Lasers.

We offer skilled and trained mechanics for all alignment procedures including the Rim and Face dial indicating, Reverse or Double Dial method, and LASERS. Our mechanics can identify and correct specific alignment problems including soft foot, worn bearing or coupling run out, bad support base, or pipe strain.

This is the result of coupling fatigue on rotating machinery.

Certified Welders

We have over 300 trained and experienced welders available. Most certified in the AWS 5.1 code for      SMAW 3G and 4G positions. We also have experienced certified MIG and TIG welders.

Compressor installation and repair, single and multi-stage units.

There are many different types and styles of compressors including positive displacement, rotary, centrifugal, single and multistage units. Our mechanics install, service, maintain, rebuild, repair, or replace any type of compressor you facility may have.

Layout for machinery.

Establishing centerlines, benchmarks, setting and leveling machines or sole plates to any tolerance required, are our specialty.

Mechanical seal installation and pump packing.

Pumps that leak excessively are inefficient, dangerous and costly to operate. Replacing packing or mechanical seal with a minimum of down time is easy with properly trained people.

Optical tooling with K&E or Brunson equipment.

Prior to using any optical equipment the instrument should have the micrometer checked and a peg test performed to guarantee the accuracy of the coincidence level. Our mechanics are trained to calibrate and use Brunson optical equipment. They can establish right angles, shoot elevations, and extend centerlines, to any tolerance requested.

Pump installation and maintenance on centrifugal, reciprocating, and rotary.

There are many different types and styles of pumps including positive displacement, rotary, centrifugal, single and multistage units. Our mechanics install, service, maintain, rebuild, repair, or replace any type of pump you facility may have.

Valve grinding and repair.

Valve installation, grinding, repacking, and any other valve requested operations are performed by our mechanics. We also repair, maintain and install motor operated valves. Our mechanics are trained to work on all types of valves.

Rigging powered or hand.

Our riggers are qualified through the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. Safety is a major concern during lifting operations. Our riggers inspect and evaluate all equipment regardless of size or weight.
